Baby Shower – 4 Ideas for Baby Girl Shower Decorations
This article contains ideas on cute baby girl shower decorations that you might want to consider as you plan your shower party, although your local fashion, design, furniture, and even candy stores can be a good place to scout for baby girl shower decorations to fit your needs and budget.
1. Make the lighting in your venue muted and pink by hanging baby girl shower decorations from your lamps. These can be in the form of twisted pink ribbons, pink veil, or pink cloth. You can also place pink votive candles in empty jars of baby food, light the candles, and use them to decorate the path leading to the venue. Just be sure to watch the flames carefully and keep children from tripping over the candles.
2. You can hang baby girl shower decorations from your ceiling. Drape the ceiling with twisted pink ribbons, then hang tulle or veil bags from these ribbons. These pink bags can contain pink jellybeans, gummy candies, cookies, or even strawberries, if your place is cold and dry. You can also hand these baby girl shower decorations to your guests for snacks, or ask your guests to take them home as souvenirs.
3. You can also hang baby girl shower decorations from your walls. Place pink rag dolls in small bags, and make them hang on your walls like baby kangaroos in their mother’s pouches. These pink rag dolls can be labeled with either the name of the baby, or the names of the guests. Again, you can ask your guests to take these baby girl shower decorations home as souvenirs.
4. You can also decorate your venue with pink balloons, as well as bottles of pink baby lotion, shampoo, and even pink milk that you can make from strawberry ice cream. You can let your guests take home these little goodies – and you can have the strawberry ice cream for dessert.
These are only a few ideas to make your shower for you baby girl a success. Consult with your friends on how you can create decorations corresponding to a theme, and consult with your friends’ daughters, or your nieces, on what might make your shower even prettier.

I ordered this gate for the top of the stairs leading to our basement. Seeing as I now have this gate and the only other retractable gate from Lascal I will compare the two for other consumers.
This gate was cheaper by $21 at the time. Compared to the Lascal unit it seemed easier to install due to the plastic templates that are supplied so you know exactly where to install the hardware onto the walls. It comes with extra hardware pieces I suppose it is in case the original ones break (They seem sturdy enough though). It also comes with plenty of screws which in my opinion are not the best ones for the job (more on that later).
The gate itself is solid, and the knob that controls the gate is easier to use than the Lascal model. Neither this gate nor the Lascal gate is easy to open without using both hands, but I’d have to say this one is harder because of the hook design. The Lascal model has hooks that are wider horizontally which makes it easier to remove the gate when you want to retract it. With this gate the hooks are smaller which means there is not a lot of room between the wall and the edge of the hook to release the gate. Also the screws that are supplied do not seat flush into the hook hardware which reduces the play room for removing the gate. I found that the bottom of the gate gets caught on the screw a lot and you have to physically reach down and jiggle it to get it to come off. You can fix this by using screws with a flatter head most likely.
I would recommend this gate for an area that you do not constantly need to go in or out of. It might drive you a bit crazy if you have to use that doorway all the time.

I have a 6 month old baby and live in a 3 story townhouse. When I was searching for baby gates the standard large swinging gates would have taken up my entire stair well and living room. I purchased this product and it was easy to install (the hardest part was finding the studs in my walls) and it takes up very little room. Also it locks down and comes up off of the brackets easily to be moved to another set of brackets and each kit comes with 2 sets of brackets. I can take my upstairs gate down to the kitchen during the day to keep the baby out of the kitchen. However, you have to be able to use 2 hands to open/close the gate which can be challenging sometimes.

Purchased this item to keep our 10 mth old from climbing the stairs. We searched for weeks looking for a gate that was narrower to fit our 28 1/2″ 112 year old staircase. We thought we might have to get a custom gate made. Found this one on amazon. Took alittle while for my husband who is pretty handy to install it. Now that it’s in it works great. It is strong enough to hold up to the baby pushing on it and it doesn’t stick far into the already narrow space. It does make some noise when it retracts so I suggest that you open it before the baby falls asleep if you need to walk through with a sleeping child. Overall it solved our problem. Would recommend it.

A great solution for stairways. We have one at the top and bottom of the stairs. the box comes with 2 mounting setups so you could get away with just one gate if you felt like moving it up and down. while that isn’t difficult it would get annoying. While the material is kind of rubbery and pretty sturdy I’m not sure how it would hold up against larger dogs jumping on it. For those people I might suggest to keep looking. The wife claims to struggle latching the gate while holding the baby but I have no problem with it.

Definately need two hands to open and unlock and put back. If you order this and you have baseboards, there is a separate spacer to purchase to make it work properly. Took forever to put brackets up because the screws they supplied, the heads stripped right off and the instructions were ridiculously confusing.
I am returning this item and going with one with a gate because this one does not work at all if there is any traffic through the area and is also quite loud when retracting. My son keeps pulling on the top part of the gate and it seems t be losing its tension after less than 2 weeks.
This would work ok in an area not trafficked and in very close eyeshot!
